The Edinburgh Earth Initiative of the University of Edinburgh (UoE), United Kingdom, in partnership with the University of Ibadan (UI), has provided support for six students from the premier university who developed adaptation-related products and services.
This was in recognition of the fact that the next decade would be defined by the resilience of small, medium and large-scale enterprises to rising temperatures, extreme weather events and changing ecosystems; and the ability of such businesses to manage the impacts of change on their customers and operations.
On account of this, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, at the University of Ibadan, Professor Oluyemisi Bamgbose, SAN, led a delegation of UI experts to the UoE, in order to engage with relevant stakeholders.
The visit also facilitated the exploration of other areas of collaboration between UI and UoE through the signing of a University-wide MoU.
The trip was facilitated by UoE, and experts who were part of the delegation included Professor Abiodun Oluwadare (Department of Forestry), Professor Funmilola Ajani (Department of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management), and Dr. Mobolaji Omobowale (Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering).
