Following the security advisory alert issued by the US Embassy to American citizens over possible terror attacks in Nigeria, especially in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, the Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday, October 23, 2022, called for calm among the populace.
The DSS also said that it was working with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.
The DSS spokesman, Dr Peter Afunanya, in a statement, disclosed that the security agency had received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, recalling that the Service had issued similar warnings in the past.
“While advising that necessary precautions are taken by all and sundry, the populace is enjoined to remain alert and assist security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them,” the statement read.
