Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, Ayuba Elkana, has spoken on the need to improve on the existing inter-agency synergy between the Army and the police.
Elkana stated this on Friday, August 27, 2021, during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto, who also doubles as the Force Commander, Operation Hadarin Daji, Major General U.U Bassey, at the command headquarters in Gusau.
The GOC, who was accompanied by the Brigade Commander, 1 Brigade, Gusau, and other principal officers of the Division, were received by the police commissioner and members of the management team.
The police command’s spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, said in a statement on Friday, August 27, 2021, that during the visit, the Commissioner of Police and the GOC discussed extensively on the lingering security challenges bedeviling the state and the need to improve the existing inter-agency synergy and collaboration, with a view to restoring lasting peace and security in the state.
The GOC commended the untiring effort of the police in the ongoing operation against bandits and other criminal elements, urging for an improved synergy.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation to the GOC for the visit, with the promise to sustain the existing inter-agency collaboration and cooperation.
He said that this would make all hands to be on deck to checkmate activities of criminals and enable members of the public to sleep with their two eyes closed.
