Twenty-eight persons suspected to be ‘Yahoo’ Boys were on Thursday, March 23, 2023 arrested by operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, who spoke on the arrest at Mandate Area, Ilorin, said that it followed intelligence gathered on the activities of fraudsters operating in the area.
The suspects included a cleric, twin brothers, six students of various institutions and mining operator, among others.
Their names were given as Toheeb Albarka; Taiye and Kehinde Lambe; Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf; Musbaudeen Akorede; Moshood Okunola; Kayode Aderemi; Ayobami Olorunfemi; Paul Ayomide; Agboola Marvellous; Adebisi Olatunde, Olaleye Solomon; Akinade Samuel; and Damilola Shagaya.
Others were Muhammed Awal; Adam Mubarak; Ogundiran Nathaniel; Jamiu Ishola; Dauda Tunde; Abdullahi Sikiru; Kasali Afeez Adegoke; Jordan Adeyinka; Ojeniyi Boluwatife; Adedamola Samson; Olarewaju Adisa Taofeek; Adewale Oloro and Omogbolahan Ibrahim.
According to Uwujaren, I tems recovered from the suspects included 10 exotic cars, different brands of laptops, cell phones and printer, among others.
He said that the suspects would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of the ongoing investigations.
