The Osun State Police Command has spoken on a viral video trending on social media showing a man who was allegedly attacked by bandits at Omi funfun area, Ora Igbomina, Osun State, saying that the incident did occur in its jurisdiction.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said that alleged attack occurred on August 18 around Rore/Arandun area, Kwara State.
The Command enjoined the general public to disregard the viral video and the false information, warning against tagging such video which happened in another state to Osun while peddling unverified news.
DSP Ojelabi said that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, has however put stringent security measures in place by deploying the Command tactical squads and intelligence at the various borders of neighbouring states to reinforce security in Osun State.
