The Nigeria Police Force has taken custody of fugitive suspect Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, who allegedly abducted and murdered a female Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her young daughter in Osun State.
Fajemirokun, who fled Nigeria shortly after the incident, was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday in Accra, Ghana, after a coordinated multi-agency operation involving the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, and the Ghana Police Service.
According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Monday, November 24, 2025, said the Ghanaian authorities arrested the suspect following credible intelligence indicating that he was hiding within their jurisdiction.
Upon receiving the alert, operatives from INTERPOL NCB Abuja immediately travelled to Accra to complete the handover process.
“The Ghana Police Service, acting on credible intelligence, effected his arrest and notified the Nigeria Police. INTERPOL NCB Abuja proceeded to Accra, where the handover was finalised,” the statement read.
”The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, extended his condolences to the grieving family and assured the public that the investigation would be meticulous and conclusive. He added that Fajemirokun would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
”The IGP also commended the Ghana Police Service for what he described as exemplary professionalism and cooperation in the joint operation.
”The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and ensuring that criminals are tracked and apprehended—regardless of borders—through strengthened international partnerships.”
