President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Ibadan-born businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dotun Jubril Sanusi, on his birthday, praising his contributions to community development, youth empowerment and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, October 17, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Sanusi as a committed party member who had been mobilising support for the APC ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The President commended the philanthropist for his generosity, compassion and commitment to improving the lives of people in Ibadan and Oyo State.
Tinubu said Sanusi had demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back to his community through various initiatives, particularly those focused on education and sports development.
“Chief Sanusi, as a businessman of note, you have demonstrated compassion, generosity and an unwavering commitment to humanity, giving back to your community roots, Ibadan and Oyo State at large,” the President said.
He described Sanusi as a mentor to young people, citing the establishment of ICAST School and Ilaji Soccer Academy as examples of his efforts to create opportunities for youth development.
According to Tinubu, the soccer academy provides a platform for nurturing football talents for possible recruitment by Spanish and Maltese teams.
The President also praised Sanusi’s humility and kindness, describing him as an exemplary son of Ibadan and Oyo State whose contributions had earned him the admiration of those who encountered him.
“I do not doubt that you are an exemplary son of Ibadan and indeed of Oyo State whose humility and kindness continue to be admired by everyone who meets you,” he said.
Tinubu further acknowledged Sanusi’s contributions to the APC and his personal support, expressing appreciation for his commitment to the party.
Sanusi built a career in the oil industry, working with multinational companies, including Halliburton, Saipem, Hanover and Beckfield, before establishing TNL Drilling Services, which has expanded its operations.
He also chairs Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“As you celebrate your birthday today, I pray that Almighty God will continue to grant you good health, greater accomplishments and many more fulfilling years of service to humanity,” Tinubu said.
