The lead consultant to the African Development Bank (AFDB) and African Union (AU) on Pan African University, Dr. Boukary Savadogo, has visited the office of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, to engage the university management on areas of possible intervention.
This was based on UI’s assessment of the operations of the Pan African University, Life and Earth Science Including (PAULESI) in preparation for the second phase of supporting the Pan African Universities for another five years.
According to Dr. Savadogo, a review of the activities of PAULESI would go a long way in assisting the AFDB and African Union in making decisions on how to make PAULESI a centre of excellence that it was envisioned to be.
Receiving the visitor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Ezekiel Olusola Ayoola, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, assured the lead consultant of robust engagements that would assist him to achieve the objectives of his visit.
Other stakeholders at the meeting highlighted areas of necessary intervention centred on the provision of more infrastructure and a review of the governing policies.
