The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Lagos State is set to hold a special event to celebrate the rights, potential, and dreams of Nigerian children on Saturday, May 31.
The event, which will hold at the Police College, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja, Lagos, is in commemoration of the 2025 Children’s Day.
The Theme is: “For Every Child, Every Right.”
Among dignitaries to attend the event are the Assistant Inspector General of Police Adegoke Fayoade from Zone 2; Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh; Southwest Chairman, POCACOV, Ambassador Eniola Samuel; a former cultist now turned preacher, Evangelist Daniel Osita Collins; and POCACOV’s patron, Dr Ayo Ogunsan.
POCACOV is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, Thenewsbearer reports.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, in her comment on the programme, said that the activities slated include quiz, debates, games, and a host of other exciting events aimed at educating and entertaining children, while promoting values of peace, unity, and self-worth.
The event, the National Coordinator stated, is to foster a sense of belonging and raise awareness about the rights of every Nigerian child.
It is worthy of note that POCACOV, under the leadership of the IGP, has continued to champion the cause of youth engagement, crime prevention, and nation-building through constructive programmes, including sensitisation, lectures, vocational skill acquisition and games.
