The bid for the second term in office of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State received a boost on Thursday, August 25, 2022, as members of the Arewa Community in Oyo State passed a vote of confidence in his currently-led administration, for running masses-friendly policies and accommodating members of the community in his programmes.
The Arewa community also showered encomiums on the administration during a solidarity visit paid to the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan.
The elated members of the Arewa Community, led by Alhaji Hammed Muritala and Alhaji Danlandi Jagaban were received by the acting Governor of the state, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
In attendance were the leaders of Arewa Communities across the state.
Addressing the visitors, the acting governor described Governor Makinde as a loving and detribalized leader who accommodates various ethnic groups in his programmes.
While recounting on the diplomatic manner Governor Makinde handled the Sasa communal clash, Barrister Lawal pledged that the present administration in the state would continue to share dividends of democracy among the people of the state, irrespective of their ethnic background.
In his remarks, the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Arewa matters, Alhaji Hammed Muritala, commended the magnanimity of Governor Makinde for giving them the opportunity to be part of his administration, promising that the Arewa community in Oyo State would not renege in their support for his government.
Other leaders of the community eulogised the masses-oriented programmes of the governor.
They, however, appealed to the state government to give more employment opportunities to their people.
