Ibadan is set to host the prestigious Edge Higher Education Conference, bringing together distinguished speakers from both Nigeria and the United States to discuss advancements in educational technology.
Among the key speakers is Hon. Stanley Olajide, Federal Representative and Chairman of the House Committee on ICT, who will be joined by academic leaders in exploring the future of higher education in Nigeria.
Themed: “Emerging Technologies and the Future of Higher Education in Nigeria,” the free lecture series is part of the American Open University of Technology’s (ATECH) ongoing educational initiatives.
The conference holds between November 29 and 30 at the university campus, located on Oladosu Oladipo Close, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Other speakers include Dr. David Akanbi, a Professor of E-Learning Practice, UDC, USA; Dr. Lenora Mosby, Consultant, Apple Inc., USA; Prof. Francis Egbokhare, President, Open and Distance Association of Nigeria; Ms. Adrienne Crosby, Director of Instructional Technology, ATECH Online and Dr. Olusola Ayoola, Founder, RAIN Robotics, Nigeria.
According to the Director of the University, Dr. Akanbi, the conference will delve into the development of AI-powered and virtual reality learning platforms, the use of innovative 3D printing applications, and the skills needed for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
