Suspected cultists stormed the residence of a student of National Open University of Nigeria, Mohammed Isiaka, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 and shot him in the chest, killing him instantly.
The late Isiaka, aged 23, was said to be a Computer Science student before his life was brutally cut short.
Confirming the incident, the police image maker in Kwara State Police Command, SO Okasanmi Ajayi, said that it occurred at about 4:30pm when the suspected cultists visited the deceased’s house at Akerebiata area of Ilorin, and attacked him before shooting him to death.
The PPRO stated further that policemen from C Division who raced to the scene on receipt of the information, took the victim to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where he was confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.
“The corpse of the victim has been deposited for autopsy. The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State, Tuesday Assayomo, has ordered a discreet and result- oriented investigation into the matter.
“The good people of Kwara State, particularly the residents of the area, are advised to go about their lawful businesses, as adequate security arrangements have been emplaced to forestall any revenge attack.
“The CP also assures the people that the perpetrators of the heinous act would be fished out and prosecuted,” SP Ajayi added.
