The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, decorated promoted officers with their new ranks.
The event was held at the Police Officers’ Mess, state headquarters, Asaba.
The decorated officers include a Deputy Commissioner of Police, two Assistant Commissioners and 97 others.
The decoration was done by the Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
He was assisted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Charles Dike and other members of the Command’s management team.
The decorated officers are DCP Ado Ibrahim, who until his promotion was the Assistant Commissioner, State Criminal Investigation Department; ACP Sadiq M. Mana, who was the erstwhile Divisional Police Officer, ‘A’ Division, Ughelli; and ACP Maiyaki Joyce Mathew who, until her promotion, was the DPO Kwale Division.
Other decorated officers include the Admin. Officer, Department of Operations, CSP Obekpa Michael; the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, CSP Omo-Uwuigbe Nosakhare; and the Commander, Crack Squad, CSP Mohammed Balarabe Ibrahim.
Other decorated officers were those promoted to the ranks of Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police.
In his admonition, CP Abaniwonda enjoined the decorated officers to remember that the reward for hard work is more work.
He urged them to put more efforts in the discharge of their duties and ensure that they don’t disappoint the Inspector General of Police and the general public.
