Four people were confirmed dead while 10 were injured in a lone auto crash which occurred on Friday, February 16, 2024, at about 6:30am in Ore, Ondo State.
The vehicle involved in the accident was a luxury bus with registration number Lagos KSF 93 YG, belonging to Chisco Company.
Confirming the incident, the spokeswoman in Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said that it was reported to police that it occurred at a step down area of the town.
The PPRO said that the police rushed the vehicle passengers to a private hospital where four were certified dead and their remains deposited at the hospital mortuary.
Ten others were injured and were being treated.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the vehicle left Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for Lagos, and on getting to stepdown area of Ore, the driver lost control and entered a ditch.
The PPRO enjoined members of the public to check on their loved ones who left Port Harcourt for Lagos with Chisco Transport Company on the mentioned date.
“The command, while sympathising with the families of those who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate accident, uses this medium to advise transportation companies to be circumspect on physical and mental condition of drivers engaged to drive passengers,” she said.
