New executive members were sworn in by Ifako Harmony Estate Residents Association (IHERA) in Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos State, on Saturday, June 26, 2021, to pilot the affairs of the association from 2021 to 2023.
The new executive members included the chairman, Alhaji Isa Egbeyemi; Vice Chairman, Pastor Babatunde Dada; General Secretary, Barrister Babatunde Badejo; and Welfare Secretary, Mr. Jide Adeyemo.
Others were the Treasurer, Mr. Chuks Enete; Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Naba Kelly Henry; Financial Secretary, Ms. Omowunmi Akinlagun and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunkanmi Ajao.
Despite the early morning downpour, members of IHERA gathered at the estate gate, which was the venue, to witness the event.
Making the inaugural speech shortly after the new executive members were sworn in, Alhaji Isa Egbeyemi said that it was a day the Estate was officially handing over the affairs of the community to the hands of God, “with me and my team ready to serve the people of Harmony Estate, as a will of God.
“It is also to consolidate the achievements of the immediate past and previous administrations.”
Alhaji Egbeyemi, on behalf of the new executive members, stated that he and his team were ready to run a transparent, accountable, reliable and responsible administration.
“We are also promising to carry along the people, irrespective of tribe, social or religious affiliations, without infringing on Harmony Estate’s established policies as regards guidelines, rules and regulations.
“We promise to run a functional, objective and all-encompassing listening administration, to the benefit of all inhabitants, including visitors, as we intend to continually take this Estate to unprecedented heights by God’s grace,” the chairman said.
He also promised that “we will follow the already established progressive template of our predecessors, to maintain our infrastructures as well as add more values to them for improved service delivery.
“We will strive to continue the development of the Estate, and we believe with high hope that dues and levies will be promptly paid, as it is our sole source of revenue for development.
“We will identify projects that will be cost effective, and also put measures in place that will further enhance our safety and security, in accordance with the modern-day digital arrangements.
“Harmony Estate is our home and our pride, which we will guide jealously and ensure there is no recklessness in attitudes, behaviours, and lawlessness, with the assurance of equal rights, justice and fairness, adequate security to lives and property.
“This will be an administration of the people by the people and for the people in its true sense and meaning.”
Alhaji Egbeyemi appealed to all stakeholders to support the new executive, saying: “We are confident and proud of the elders we have, to which we shall always consult for their wisdom and advice.
“We are also counting on our past administration’s support in their pool of experiences of running successful office, a legacy we will protect by God’s grace.
“We are also banking on the support of our committed, caring and concerned African wives, mothers and sisters in the Estate for their full support.
“Our wonderful energetic, vibrant and dedicated youth’s support on this journey, to better life and living, will also be needed dearly to run this administration of continuity.
“We will also be delighted to enjoy the best and usual support and cooperation of the already established committees as wingers in service much more than ever before and we pray God almighty will reward them all in their endeavours for this selfless humanitarian service to Harmony estate.
“Further, I want to appeal to us all, that we see ourselves as ambassadors of this promising estate and to act sincerely for correctness, beneficial vital information disseminations, as well as maintain good neighborhood, to be our brothers’ keepers at all times in love, peace and harmony.
“We look forward to the best of support from you all as we proceed and progress on this journey.”
