The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and the MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The launch ceremony will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, FCT, Abuja, as part of efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing, improve communication and enhance operational efficiency, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ini Aniedu, said in a statement on Monday, August 24.
The NPF Vigilant App, according to the FPRO, is designed to promote stronger engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public.
The platform is expected to provide an additional avenue for citizens to interact with the Force and support policing efforts.
Similarly, the MTN CUG Network will provide a dedicated communication platform for personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, facilitating seamless and efficient communication and strengthening internal coordination.
The initiatives form part of the IGP’s broader efforts to leverage modern technology and strategic partnerships in improving policing, enhancing operational effectiveness and strengthening service delivery.
The launch further underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to adopting innovative technological solutions that can make policing more responsive, efficient and people-centred.
The Force said it remains committed to harnessing technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen its operations and provide improved security services to Nigerians.
