‎INEC declares Accord’s Adeleke winner of Osun governorship election ‎

‎The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Accord Party and incumbent Governor of Osun State,
‎
‎ Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
‎Adeleke secured a second term in office after defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other contenders in the poll conducted across the 30 local government areas of the state.
‎
‎The declaration was made by the Returning Officer for the election following the conclusion of collation of results from across the state.
‎
‎According to the official results announced by INEC, Adeleke polled the highest number of valid votes cast to emerge victorious.
‎
‎The outcome followed a keenly contested election in which the Accord Party maintained strong support in several local government areas, including Adeleke’s home base of Ede North, where he recorded a landslide victory.
‎
‎The election attracted widespread attention as voters turned out across Osun State to choose their governor for the next four years. INEC had uploaded thousands of polling unit results to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal during the collation process.
‎
‎With the declaration, Adeleke has secured another mandate to continue leading the state, while attention is expected to shift to reactions from political parties and stakeholders over the outcome of the election.
