Two suspected kidnappers, who were at the point of picking the ransom demanded for the release of an abducted child on Sunday, October 3, 2021, have been arrested by operatives of Ogun State Police Command.
The suspects were identified as Muhammed Abubakar, aged 42, and Clinton Niche, an 18-year-old boy.

According to the PPRO, one Stephen Ajibili, the father of the abducted seven-year-old boy, Daniel, told the police at Agbara Division that his son was taken away by unknown persons while on an errand by his mother at about 11:20 am.
Mr Ajibili further disclosed to the police that the abductors had called him and demanded for N1 million naira as ransom for the boy’s release.
“Consequent upon the report, the acting area commander, Agbara, CSP Kayode Shedrack, quickly mobilized his detectives to embark on technical and intelligence-based investigation, to unravel those behind the dastardly act.
“The efforts of the detectives paid off when the suspects who had directed the victim’s parents to drop the ransom money somewhere were ambushed and apprehended by police detectives,” the PPRO explained.
When the suspects led the policemen to the bush where the boy was kept, Thenewsbearer learnt that he was found tied to a tree by his abductors.
Oyeyemi added: “On interrogation, the suspects informed the police that they were three in number, but the remaining member of their gang was the person watching over their victim while they came out to collect the ransom.
“Having discovered that his two accomplices had been arrested, he took to flight immediately.”
The acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Abiodun Alamutu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti-kidnapping section of the State Criminal iInvestigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
He also directed that the fleeing member of the gang be hunted for and brought to justice within the shortest possible period.
