In its sustained onslaught against criminal elements, the Kwara State Police Command has succeeded in rescuing a kidnap victim, one Haruna Ahmadu, unhurt.
Operatives of the Command also arrested two suspects, Ayisa Ibrahim, female; and Yakubu Hassan, male, in connection with the kidnap.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the victim regained freedom from kidnappers’ den in Omu-Aran forest.
The Command’s spokeswoman, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a statement on Thursday, October 30, disclosed that a combined team of police operatives and vigilante group members rescued the victim following credible intelligence.
She said that the arrested suspects are currently in custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
The Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, who commended the professionalism and dedication of the officers involved, assured members of the public that the Command remains fully committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of all residents.
He said that investigations are progressing steadily with promising leads already being pursued.
The Commissioner of Police acknowledged the purposeful leadership and strategic direction of the Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, whose policing vision has continued to strengthen operational efficiency and inspire proactive crime-fighting efforts nationwide.
