The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Abdulwahab Ahmad for his alleged move to murder one Abdulazeez Ishaq and also take possession of his vehicle.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, stated: “On 10th November 2025, one Abdulazeez Ishaq of Gerewu, Ilorin, reported that Adekoya Opeyemi a.k.a. Justice confessed he was contracted by one Abdulwahab Ahmad to kill him and steal his Honda Accord (2013 model).
“Acting on Abdulwahab’s instruction, Adekoya was directed to tie the victim, lock him in the boot of his car, and drive to the Unity area where Abdulwahab planned to take possession and proceed to Ibadan with the victim in the vehicle.
“In a tactically coordinated operation, operatives of the command advised the complainant to play along while surveillance was mounted.
“The suspect was swiftly arrested at the agreed location as he attempted to take possession of the car, thereby foiling the planned robbery and murder.”
Commending the operatives for their professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, urged members of the public to remain vigilant, share credible information promptly, and continue to support the police in the Command.
He also lauded the Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his visionary leadership and sustained operational drive which has continued to inspire tactical efficiency and notable successes across police commands nationwide.
