Police operatives in Alausa Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected traffic robbers while escaping with their loot after dispossessing victims of their belongings.
The suspects were identified as Usman Mohammed, Azeez Adeleke and Solomon Odiya.
Confirming this on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the command’s police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said that they were arrested at about 8:45pm on Sunday, June 19, following a distress call received by the police about an ongoing robbery attack at Mobolaji Johnson in Ikeja.
Items recovered from the suspects included a Tecno mobile phone, a dagger and N5,400 in cash.
According to the PPRO, “preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects had previously operated in the area a couple of times, snatching belongings of unsuspecting passers-by.”
Saying that the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, gave an assurance that the command would continue to do everything operationally possible to ensure safety of lives and property, he added that the suspects would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigations.
