In commitment to ridding Lagos State of criminals and miscreants by the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, the combined team of operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Command’s Special Squad and Taskforce has raided some black spots at Ebute Meta area.

The raiding, which was carried out on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at about 1am, also led to the arrest of 144 male suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had said in a statement on Wednesday that the raid was prompted by intelligence reports and the special request for assistance from the neighbourhood to dislodge criminals using some of the shanties in the area as hideouts.

CSP Adejobi revealed that many weapons and substances suspected to be Indian hemp, drugs, as well as suspected stolen items were recovered from them.

He stated further that the suspects would be arraigned in court as soon as investigations had been concluded on them.

Reiterating the police commissioner’s resolve to flush miscreants and hoodlums out of the state and secure all public spaces, the police spokesman said that Odumosu warned sponsors and those who aid hoodlums and criminals in perpetrating crime to desist from such acts and turn a new leaf, as the Command would not spare anyone caught promoting crime and violence in the state.
