In a bid to prioritise the health and well-being of its personnel, the Lagos State Taskforce has successfully conducted a comprehensive health check exercise for its officers.
The Taskforce Director, Press and Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, made this known in a statement on Sunday, December 15.
This initiative aligned with the Lagos State Government commitment to the welfare of public servants, aimed at promoting a healthy workforce capable of delivering optimal service.
The health check exercise featured a wide range of critical tests and evaluations, including:
•General Health Assessment
•Heart Health and Diabetes Screening
•Kidney and Liver Function Tests
•Respiratory Health Check
•Mental Health Evaluation
•Nutrition and Lifestyle Counselling
•Viral Screening
These services were provided in collaboration with Medic Partners Multispecialist Hospital, ensuring that personnel had access to expert medical care and personalized health advice.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, emphasised the importance of health as a cornerstone of professional effectiveness.
He stated: “Our personnel are at the frontline of enforcing laws and maintaining order in Lagos State.
“This exercise demonstrates our commitment to their health and overall well-being.
“By addressing physical, mental, and lifestyle concerns, we are ensuring that our team remains fit, motivated, and ready to serve.”
The exercise received positive feedback from participants who appreciated the Taskforce’s proactive approach to their welfare.
Many noted that the inclusion of mental health evaluations and lifestyle counselling reflected a holistic approach to health, emphasising both prevention and cure.
The initiative aligned with the state government THEMES Plus agenda, particularly the health and environment pillar, highlighting the administration’s dedication to fostering a healthy and productive workforce across all sectors.
Akerele assured the entire workforce that he would continually prioritize their health and wellbeing in order to ensure that their focused on the job remains undivided.
He urged them to submit themselves for health checks is important as early detection saves lives.
