Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has mourned the deaths of victims of a building collapse in Jegede Olunloyo, Ona Ara Local Government, Ibadan.
The governor expressed condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the families of PDP chieftains, Hon. Babatunde Eesuola and Mr Taoreed Adedigba, who passed away during brief illnesses.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde described the building collapse as an avoidable tragedy, praying to God to console the families of the deceased.
He added that the government would investigate the tragedy and prevent a future occurrence.
In a similar development, the governor commiserated with the PDP families in Oyo Federal Constituency and Akinyele Local Government over the deaths of Eesuola and Adedigba.
Eesuola was a former House of Assembly member and former chairman of the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency, while Adedigba was the immediate past chairman of Akinyele Local Government.
