A 41-year-old man, Aliu Ibrahim, has been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter (name withheld) each time she went to his house to spend holiday with him.
The incident, confirmed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, was reported by the girl’s mother and estranged wife of the suspect at Oja Odan Division on Thursday, October 10, at about 2:10pm, Thenewsbearer learnt.
According to the PPRO, the mother told the police that she learnt from their daughter that the father had been having unlawful carnal knowledge of her in the past two years each time she was with him during holiday period.
“The mother told our police officers that she discovered the man’s immoral and unlawful act when she took their daughter to State Hospital in Ilaro to treat the vaginal discharge noticed in the young girl,” SP Odutola disclosed.
Thenewsbearer further gathered that the father confessed to the crime after his arrest by the Oja Odan Divisional Police Officer.
The police spokeswoman said that preliminary investigation was being conducted by the human rights section of the police station, after which the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further probe into his acts.
