A 43-year-old man, Linus Dimas, was on Monday, December 18, 2023, arrested by Adamawa State Police Command for stabbing a staff of Nasarawo Jereng Area Court, Yauba Usman, to death after rejecting court summons served him.
The police spokesman in the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, made this known on Tuesday, December 19.
Dimas, a resident of Kugama Wuro Jibir, Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, reportedly stabbed the court clerk with a knife several times, inflicting him with deep cuts.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the court clerk was immediately rushed to a hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The PPRO said that the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, has directed that the case be discreetly investigated, at the conclusion of which the suspect would be charged to court.
