The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Wale Abass, has assured residents of the state that the May 29 inauguration ceremony will be hitch-free.
In line with this, the police commissioner has ordered massive deployment of personnel across the state and the inauguration venue, especially at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, to provide adequate security before, during and after the event.
This, according to the statement of the command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, is to ensure protection of all residents in the state and the success of all activities lined up to mark the event.
The CP warned mischief makers who are bent on fomenting trouble during and after the celebration that they would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
CP Abass also ordered continuous ‘Operation Show Of Force’ across the state, and told residents to be calm when they notice an increased presence of police patrol teams within their localities.
In addition, the police boss enjoined members of the public to be law abiding, assuring them that the Command remains committed to its core mandate of providing security, maintenance of law and protection of lives and properties among other duties.
On behalf of officers and men of the command, the police commissioner wishes Deltans in particular, and Nigerians in general, a successful inauguration ceremony.
