A motorcycle rider, Oyategbe Joseph, who was found with human intestines by operatives of Oyo State Police Command, has disclosed that the buyers of the unlawful commodity are a pastor and a Quranic teacher.
The suspects gave the names of the accomplices as Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, aged 46 years, and 55-year-old Pastor Ayodele Taiwo.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the discovery of the human parts occurred when the police conducted a stop-and-search operation along Adekile area of Agugu Community in Ibadan.
According to the Command’s spokesman, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, March 24, said that the operatives, on stopping the rider who was on an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, discovered that he had a package containing flesh suspected to be human intestines.
During interrogation, the bike rider reportedly confessed to have obtained the human parts from an unknown individual at Oritaperin area, while he further admitted to selling the items to the Pastor and the Alfa.
“Acting promptly on this intelligence, the Command swiftly apprehended Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo and brought them to the station for interrogation.
“Both suspects confessed to purchasing the suspected human parts from Oyategbe Joseph,” the PPRO stated.
He said that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku , Ibadan, for investigation.
Ayanlade added that all the suspects, who are currently in police custody, will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
