The Ogun State Police Command has assured residents and visitors of top-notch security as the state plays host to the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged “Gateway Games Ogun 2024,” taking place in the capital city, Abeokuta.
The assurance was given in a statement by the Command’s spokeswoman, CSP Omolola Odutola, on Friday, May 16.
Ogun State had received the “Torch of Unity” of the National Sports Festival last Thursday, ahead of the commencement of the programme scheduled to begin on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
The PPRO said in the statement: “The Command is committed to providing a safe environment for visitors and residents alike, as a robust security architecture has been put in place across the state.
“The deployment of conventional police, tactical teams and assets aims to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators who will grace the occasion.”
She said that the Commissioner of Police, Dr Lanre Ogunlowo, had reiterated the command’s commitment to always prioritise the security of the good people of Ogun State, assuring a hitch-free festival.
