A 41-year-old driver, Ortema Paul, was on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, arrested by detectives of the Lagos State Police Command at Ojodu axis, on his way to sell his employer’s 2021 Toyota Hilux pickup van for N30 million.
Also arrested were his guarantor, Iorfa Paul, aged 40 and 29-year-old Ojo Solomon who was contracted to locate and disable the tracker in the vehicle.
Confirming the arrest on Thursday, August 11, the police image-maker in the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the three suspects were arrested together in the vehicle while trying to sell the vehicle bought brand new just three weeks ago.
SP Hundeyin said that an investigation was quickly launched immediately a report of the stolen vehicle was received by the command, adding that the suspects would be arraigned at the end of the investigation.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, in his remark, assured Lagos residents that the Command would continue to work towards the decimation of crime and criminality in the Centre of Excellence.
