The price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, has been increased to N617 per litre by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
It was authoritatively gathered some filling stations immediately effected the change in price.
NNPC stations in Abuja were seen to have displayed the new price on their fuel pumping machines.
The reason for the sudden increase in price had yet to be ascertained, but unconfirmed report had it that it has a link with the recent projections by oil marketers that fuel price would become N700 per litre soon.
