Following presidential directive for the establishment of an annual National Police Day in recognition of the invaluable contributions and commitment of officers to nation building, Ogun State Police Command has commenced programmes to commemorate the event slated for Monday, April 7, in line with the declaration by the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, .
The police spokeswoman, CSP Omolola Odutola, in a statement, said that the Command would seize the opportunity to strengthen collaborations with communities to engender public trust through police public engagement.
Events lined up to mark the day include:
Wednesday, 2nd April 2025.
•Flag off of the re-construction of POWA Acquisition Centre at Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Thursday, 3rd April, 2025,
•Town Hall meeting with critical stakeholders on challenges and collective solutions to security challenges.
Friday, 4th April, 2025
•Community Engagement
Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers will interface with the public on the importance of National Police Day.
Saturday, 5th April, 2025
•Free medical services available to community members to enhance public health.
•Sanitisation and cleanup of public spaces.
The Command encouraged members of the public to join in the celebration.
