The Oyo State Government has congratulated the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Oyo State Council, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on his emergence as President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
In a congratulatory message issued by the Governor Seyi Makinde’s Special Adviser (Media), Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Sunday, August 23, the acting Governor of the state, Barrister Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal, described Olabiyi-Agoro’s election as a significant achievement and a positive development for PENGASSAN.
Lawal said the new PENGASSAN president’s wealth of experience, exposure and commitment to workers’ welfare would contribute significantly to the growth and development of the association.
He also commended Olabiyi-Agoro for representing Oyo State with distinction, describing his emergence as another demonstration of the state’s reputation for producing outstanding leaders across various sectors.
According to the acting Governor, the development has also pleased Governor Seyi Makinde, particularly given Olabiyi-Agoro’s contributions to the administration’s efforts to improve workers’ welfare and maintain a harmonious relationship with organised labour.
Lawal said: “I congratulate Comrade Olabiyi-Agoro, a man of purpose, whose commitment to labour unionism and workers’ advancement has never been in doubt, on his emergence as the President of PENGASSAN.
“His emergence is a positive development for the association, and I have no doubt that he will deploy his wealth of experience to move PENGASSAN forward.”
The Acting Governor further assured that the Makinde administration would continue to maintain a cordial and productive relationship with labour unions in the state.
He said such collaboration remained essential to strengthening workers’ welfare, promoting good governance and advancing the interests of the people of Oyo State.
Lawal congratulated Olabiyi-Agoro once again, wishing him a successful tenure as President of PENGASSAN.
