Oyo State Government has suspended Chief Kilani Ajani as the Baale of Ilua in Saki West Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser (Media), Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Wednesday, February 21, Chief Ajani’s suspension was premised on his activities which had allegedly caused unrest and political strife within Ilua and Gbepakan communities.
According to a letter addressed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, from the Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Biodun Aikomo, Chief Ajani was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo State Solid Minerals Development Agency.
It was said that the suspension, which was approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, is to prevent the crisis in the communities from festering and to allow a fair investigation into the allegations against Chief Ajani.
