Four suspected carjackers have been arrested by cops in Lagos State Police Command for allegedly robbing owners of their vehicles at gunpoint at Igando axis of the state.
The arrested suspects were identified as Victor Chibuike a.k.a Azaman, aged 26; Kingsley Ndubuisi a.k.a Kango, aged 33; Augustine James a.k.a Edo Boy (29) and Lateef Babatunde (33).
Recovered from the gang were three locally-made pistols, a locally-made semi-automatic pistol and 12 live cartridges.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest, said that police efforts yielded positive results after they began a prompt investigation immediately a report was received on August 7, 2022 that a 2010 Lexus RX 350 SUV, a 2006 Toyota Camry saloon car, an iPhone and other valuables were robbed at gunpoint.
The police spokesman said that during investigation, it was revealed that the suspects were notorious for robbing their victims of their valuables and vehicles along the Iba-Igando-Egbeda axis of the state.
“Efforts are ongoing to arrest their criminal receiver of stolen goods, and possible recovery of other items stolen by the gang in the past.
“Suspects will be arraigned at the end of investigation,” the PPRO stated.
