The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Wale Abass, has shown that criminals in the state will have a tough time as the command’s police operatives arrested four suspects and recovered live AK-47 ammunition and cartridges.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, in a statement on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, said that two of the suspects were nabbed on Tuesday, May 9 by the ‘A’ Division anti-crime patrol team in Warri.

He said that the team was on a visibility and confidence building patrol to curtail activities of kidnappers and armed robbers, when the suspects were arrested.
“During the patrol, the team intercepted a tricycle at the Eagle roundabout by Ogunu bridge, conveying three occupants.
“The occupants were subjected to a search and in the process, 30 rounds of 7.62 AK-47 live ammunition were recovered from two of the passengers,” the police spokesman said.

Aged 37, of Akere Ogidi, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, Enenmo was said to have been traced to his gang’s hideout in one of the popular hotel in Asaba, where members usually hibernated and carried out their nefarious activities.
According to the PPRO, recovered from the suspect were 250 rounds of live cartridges, and in the course of investigation, he informed the police about his accomplice.
This, Edafe added, led the operatives to Fegge area of Onitsha in Anambra State where one Donatus Ndukan, aged 34, of Urom community in Awka North LGA was also arrested.
Commending the teams, CP Wale Abass encouraged them to sustain the tempo on criminal elements in the state.
The police commissioner also urged members of the public to cooperate with the police during stop-and-search duties.
