Police Command in Adamawa State has debunked a report on social media that the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state was beheaded by Fulani terrorists.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement on Saturday, November 8, 2025, said: “The command came across a false and inciting post circulating on a Facebook page operated by one Lionman Lioni, alleging that the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State, was beheaded by Fulani terrorists.
”The Command categorically refutes this malicious claim in its entirety. No such incident has been recorded anywhere in Adamawa State.
”The report is entirely fabricated and designed to create panic, tension, and religious disaffection among peace-loving residents of the State.
”The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, psc (+), calls on the public to disregard the fake report and to always verify information from credible sources before sharing.”
SP Nguroje added he Command has commenced an investigation to identify and prosecute those behind the false publication.
