‎Police debunk report of Adamawa CAN chairman’s beheading

Police Command‎ in Adamawa State has debunked a report on social media that the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state was beheaded by Fulani terrorists.

‎ The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement on Saturday, November 8, 2025, said: “The command came across a false and inciting post circulating on a Facebook page operated by one Lionman Lioni, alleging that the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State, was beheaded by Fulani terrorists.

‎”The Command categorically refutes this malicious claim in its entirety. No such incident has been recorded anywhere in Adamawa State.
‎
‎”The report is entirely fabricated and designed to create panic, tension, and religious disaffection among peace-loving residents of the State.
‎
‎”The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, psc (+), calls on the public to disregard the fake report and to always verify information from credible sources before sharing.”
‎
‎SP Nguroje added he Command has commenced an investigation to identify and prosecute those behind the false publication.
