A Police Inspector, found to be responsible for the fatal shooting of a civilian, Gafaru Buraimoh, at Ajah in Lagos State, has been disarmed and detained by the state police command, with the commencement of a full-scale investigation.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
It will be recalled that the shooting incident involving policemen from Ajah Division occurred on Tuesday, December 6, at about 11:30pm, resulting in the death of Buraimoh of Happy Land Estate, Ajah.
The PPRO said that the Lagos State Police Command through the Area Commander, Elemoro and Divisional Police Officer, Ajah, had since notified the family members and established contact with them.
Commiserating with the family of the deceased over the avoidable and most unfortunate incident, the command gave an assurance that the already-commenced investigation into the immediate and remote circumstances leading to the shooting would be brought to a speedy and conclusive end, while equally ensuring that justice would be served.
