In its efforts towards ridding Lagos State of crime, the Southwest zone of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has organised a road walk slated for Thursday, July 31.
The walk, which will kick off at 8a.m., starts from Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.
It will go through the Computer Village-Medical Road-Airport Road-Bolade Oshodi-Oshodi Under Bridge-Mushin Market-Idioro Market-Ojuelegba (Area C Command)-CMS (Apongbon)-Marina-CMS, ending at Zone 2 Police Command headquarters.
The event will be hosted by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Fayoade Adegoke; the state Commissioner of Police, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh; the state chairman of POCACOV, Dr Moses Oladimeji and others.
Themed: “Unity Movement Against All Crimes in Southwest States,” the Southwest Chairman, Ambassador Samuel Eniola Adams, said that the walk is aimed at taking the mind of Nigerians, particularly youths, away from crime.
POCACOV, an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, is a preventive policing system to help youths focus on positive attitudes and desist from crimes and other vices which include cultism, armed robbery, ritual killing, fraud, kidnapping and illicit drug taking, among others.
