A 36-year-old homosexual, Sikiru Ajibola, was arrested on Friday, November 25, 2022, by detectives in Ogun State Police Command for engaging a five-year-old boy in forceful and unlawful sexual act, resulting in his death.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the Community Development Association Chairman of Olorunwa Arogbeja, Ogijo, exposed the suspect’s dastardly act when he made a report to Ogijo divisional headquarters.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who spoke on the arrest, said that the CDA chairman reported that he was informed by one of the community members that the suspect had an unlawful carnal knowledge of the boy, which led to his death.
Immediately the report was made, the Divisional Police Officer, Ogijo division, CSP Enatufe Omoh, was said to have sent his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the arrested suspect confessed to being a homosexual, and that while he was having sex with the boy, he gave up the ghost.
“He confessed further that he quickly dug a shallow grave in a nearby bush, where he hurriedly buried the boy.
“He has also taken policemen to where the deceased was buried,” the PPRO explained.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
