An 18-year-old boy, Yasir Abubakar, has been arrested by Katsina State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 15 months old female child kept in his care by her mother.
The command’s spokesman, SP Isah Gambo, who disclosed this, said that the suspect, of Sabon Layi Quarters, Charanchi Local Government Area, was arrested on March 9 at about 11am.
According to the PPRO, nemesis caught up with the suspect when he took the toddler into a room in their own house, as they were neighbours, and had carnal knowledge of her.
“The victim was seriously injured and admitted at General Hospital, Katsina. The suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing,” SP Gambo said.
