Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West under Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised several terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition during separate military operations in Zamfara and Kaduna states.
The military operations, conducted as part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and banditry in the North-West, targeted criminal hideouts and movement routes used by armed groups operating in the two states.
According to military authorities, the troops engaged the terrorists in fierce encounters, leading to the elimination of several insurgents.
During the operations, security personnel also recovered a significant quantity of arms, ammunition and other items believed to have been used by the criminal elements.
The operations formed part of sustained offensives by Operation Fansan Yamma aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting logistics channels and restoring security in communities affected by violent attacks across the region.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist and bandit groups, urging residents to continue providing credible information that could assist security agencies in tracking down criminal elements.
The latest successes come amid intensified military campaigns against armed groups in Nigeria’s North-West, where security forces have continued to conduct clearance operations and recover weapons from terrorist enclaves.
