•Unveils renovated Hall
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Dr Ikioye Orutugu, has charged 14 newly-promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater service, renewed discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Commissioner of Police gave the charge on Friday, October 31, at the decoration ceremony for the officers which was held at the police headquarters in Awka.
CP Orutugu emphasised that promotion in the Force is both a recognition of performance and a challenge for higher responsibility.
Among the decorated officers were CSP Ikpeama Joy Chidimma, DPO Main Market Division; CSP Asso Emmanuel Agbuka, DPO Amanuke Division; CSP Nuhu Azeez, Officer-in-Charge of Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Obosi Sector; CSP Onyilo Thaddeus, Officer- in-Charge of Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Onitsha Sector.
At the same event, the Commissioner of Police also unveiled the newly-renovated Commissioner of Police Hall, a project facilitated through the goodwill of His Royal Highness, Dr Otonye Efebo (Shidi VII), the Amadabo of Shidi Ama Twon – Brass, Bayelsa State.
The police boss commended the Royal Father for his support to the Command, describing the gesture as a mark of patriotism and community investment in security development.
He said that the renovation of the hall would serve as an improved workspace for strategic meetings, trainings and conferences that enhance police service delivery in the State.
The monarch’s support, according to a statement by the Command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reflects the enduring partnership between traditional institutions and the Nigeria Police Force in strengthening community-oriented policing.
HRH Efebo, who was on a visit to CP Ikioye Orutugu, one of his subjects from Brass Kingdom in Bayelsa State, expressed satisfaction with the police boss’s leadership strides, particularly in fostering community engagement, discipline and visible policing presence across the State.
The monarch reaffirmed his commitment to continually supporting security initiatives that promote peace and stability in Anambra.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Command’s management team, senior officers, families of the promoted officers, and invited guests.
