The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a small commuter plane that crashed into an Ohio car dealership in the United States on Tuesday morning.
The commuter plane can carry up to 10 passengers.
The Beechcraft 90 airplane reportedly crashed at a site located at 1000 Pike Street in Marietta.
The airplane, owned by Intel Management, was enroute from Columbus, Ohio to Parkersburg, West Virginia before it went down about 20 minutes after take-off at 7am.
Daily Mail reports that the crash appeared to be behind GMC Summers Motor car lot and the Hensler’s County Market.
Eight cars at the dealership were on fire and remains of the plane could be seen by bystanders.
One Latoya Rashcelle wrote on Facebook along with a video of the crash site: “I literally just watched this plane crash. It was going through the sky… then did a bunch of flips and fell straight to the ground.”
Commuters had been asked to avoid the SR 7 between I-77 and Browns Road as the scene clears.
It was unknown how many people were aboard the plane, but officers and fire departments from Reno and Williamstown were at the crash site.
Marietta has a population of about 13,385 people and is located in southeastern Ohio – roughly 105 miles of Columbus and above the boarder of West Virginia, Daily Mail further reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
