The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps codenamed So-Safe Corps on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at about 5:30am, arrested a suspected robber, Michael Olanrewaju, said to have been terrorising Olambe Community and its environs.
The suspect, aged 26, was alleged of being a notorious robber who had escaped arrest on several occasions and sometimes injured law enforcement agents in the cause of arresting him.
Speaking on behalf of the Corps Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, the So-Safe spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, in a statement on Wednesday, August 16, said that the suspect, popularly called ‘Skendu’ who was residing at Abattoir (Oju-irin), Lagos State, had been known for snatching and stealing motorcycles and generating sets in Ogun State.
After each successful operation, the PRO said, Olanrewaju would escape to Lagos State, covering his tracks.
He stated further that efforts to arrest Skendu yielded fruits when he was sighted by the Corps’ undercover officers attached to Agbado/Oke-Aro/Ibaragun Area Command under the Assistant Commander of Corps Akeem Olaiya.
“During preliminary investigation, the culprit confessed that he specialised in snatching and stealing motorbikes and generating sets in Olambe Community and its environs in Ifo Local Government Area,” the spokesman disclosed.
Thenewsbearer learnt that the suspect had been transfered to the police at Ajuwon Division for further investigation.
