The body of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, in charge of Police Armament, Omololu Bishi was on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, laid to rest at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The last honour to the deceased was led by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Ahmed Iliyasu, in representation of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
AIG Iliyasu was joined by senior police officers, including the AIG Police Cooperative, Aminu Saleh Pai; state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu; Area Commanders, Commanding Officers, Police Mobile Force and from police formations within the state.
A statement by police image-maker in the state, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed that a befitting burial parade was organized in honour of the late senior officer.
AIG Bishi died on Monday, January 11, 2021, while on admission at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), following a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife and children.
The brief burial rite was witnessed by his immediate family members, representatives of the Oba of Lagos, Bishi’s course mates in Police Academy, friends and well wishers.
Iliyasu had expressed shock at the sudden death of Bishi, who was recently promoted to the rank of an AIG.
The AIG, Zone 2, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, described late Bishi as humble, responsible and dedicated to duty.
Iliyasu also sympathised with the family, the Lagos monarch and chiefs, as well as friends on his demise.
He prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
According to the PPRO, Bishi, who hailed from Lagos Island, Lagos State, was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1988 as cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
