The Police Service Commission on Monday, March 17, approved the appointment of CP Olatunji Disu as an Assistant Inspector General of Police.
Disu was the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, before his new rank.
Appointed alongside him are 19 other Commissioners of Police, including Fasuba Akinyele Olabode, CP Special Fraud Unit, Force Headquarters; Musibau Omolabi Ajani, CP Admin, FCID; Aliyu Abubakar Musa, CP Katsina State Command; Patrick Adedeji Atayero, former CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD); Force Headquarters; Gyogon Augustine Grimah, CP Cross Rivers State Command and Olaiya Victor Mobolaji, CP Kwara State Command; Thomas Abraham Nabhoni; Office of the National Security Adviser; CP Abel Jangnap Miri Zwalchir, ICT, Force Headquarters and CP Ifeanyi Uka, CP Works, Force Headquarters.
Others are Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere, CP Taraba State Command; Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, CP Fom, Force Headquarters; Olaolu Adebowale Adegbite, CP Interpol FCID; Godwin Iguh Eze, CP SEB, FCID Annex Lagos; Alausa Hakeem Tolani, CP Admin PAB, Force Headquarters; Kareem Musa, CP Interpol Annex, Lagos; Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, CP Zamfara State Command; Dan-Mamman Shawulu, CP Niger State Command; Clement Robert, CP SERVICOM R&P Force Headquarters; and Musa Auwal Mohammed, CP Bauchi State Command.
The PSC, according to a statement by its spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, also considered and approved the promotion of 19 Deputy Commissioners to substantive rank of Commissioners of Police.
Thirteen Superintendents of Police and 14 Deputy Superintendents were also elevated to the next rank.
The 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police promoted to the next rank of Commissioners of Police include Usman Tahir; Sunday Okoebor; Ayodeji Faniyan; Saka Adewale Ajao; Omole Ola and Urunwa Okafor.
Others are DCPs Ajo Geofrey Ordue; Olufunke Adeayo; Stephen Olubunmi Ogedengbe; Iyabode Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja; Adebowale Lawal; Ojo Adekimi and Yemi John Oyeniyi.
The Commission also approved the promotion of DCPs Obasi Mary Okereke; Moses Ashu Ottah; Felix Akoneme Nnebue; Gazali Alade Abdul-Salaam; Fidelis Ndubuisi Ogarabe and Olubode Ojajuni.
All the officers reportedly appeared before PSC on plenary and were subjected to examination and interactive interview.
The PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), presided over the exercise and was supported by DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), the Honourable Commissioner representing the Police; and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission.
