The Commissioner of Police, who disclosed his command’s pro-active move through the police spokeswoman in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, on Friday, June 11, restated the readiness of the state command and other sister security agents to guarantee safety of lives and property in all parts of the state during the celebration and beyond.
Olokode also assured the people of adequate visibility policing and constant vehicular patrols, just as he appealed to them to cooperate and collaborate with the security personnel detailed for the special assignment, and other vehicles on patrol duties put in place to curb any act of crime and criminality.
He also enjoined them to conduct and comport themselves within the ambit of the law and jettison all forms of rumours of insecurity being peddled, as the police, in synergy with other security agents, was ready to deal decisively with any act of criminality that might arise.
The PPRO added that the police commissioner advised parents and guardians to warn their wards against any unnecessary protest and procession in the state that could cause breakdown of law and order, as the Command would not tolerate any act of lawlessness.
