The chairman of Iganna Local Council Development Area in Oke Ogun axis of Oyo State, Mr Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke has been abducted by kidnappers.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night.
According to the information gathered by Thenewsbearer, Mr Adeleke was taken as captive with his driver while on Okeho-Ado Awaye Road.
The chairman was said to be on his way to Ibadan to have a meeting with the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, when he came across the kidnappers.
On Monday, October 26, 2020, news filtered in that the abductors contacted the chairman and the driver’s family members, demanding N200 million as ransom.
Since the abduction, members of vigilance group in the axis had started combing the bush surrounding the abduction spot, working towards securing the release of the kidnap victims.
Confirming the story, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gbenga Fadeyi said that efforts were being intensified to secure freedom for the victims and arrest the kidnappers.
