The Kaaro Oojiire Omo Oodua Foundation (KOOOF) has strongly condemned the recent video released by Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, which it said contained malicious and defamatory statements against his girlfriend, Queen Dammy, and linked with the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi Ill.
Queen Dammy was an estranged wife of the Alaafin before his demise.
The KOOOF chairman, Asiwaju Olú Mayungbe, in a statement issued and signed by him, said that Portable’s claims in the video were not only frivolous, egregious, and preposterous but also damaging to Yoruba anthropology and culture.
Asiwaju Mayungbe said: “His (Portable) statements have brought disrespect to the highly revered late Yoruba Royal Father and his family.”
He told Portable to tender an unreserved apology to the Yoruba people, monarchs,Alaafin’s chiefs, the Oyomesi and the late king’s family members on all social media platforns and newspapers.
The KOOOF chairman also asked him to withdraw the defamatory video fiom all his social networks.
“Failure to comply with these demands may lead to further action. Portable’s video has the potential to cause unrest in Nigeria, particularly in the Southwestem region.
“We urge the Nigerian authorities to take necessary action against Portable for his malicious and defamatory statements.
The Kaaro Oojiire Omo Oodua Foundation will continue to promote and protect Yoruba culture, tradition. and heritage,” the statement read further.
